Deogratias Nteziryayo
practical experience
Deogratias Nteziryayo is an Associate at ENS in Rwanda.
Deogratias specialises in M&A, corporate governance and responsible business, banking and fintech, real estate, employment, competition and consumer protection, and ADR, particularly arbitration.
His experience includes advising on share transfer, financing projects, M&A transactions for multinational companies in the aviation, agribusiness, and banking sectors, conducting related legal due diligence, and advising clients on corporate governance and risk mitigation, drafting and review of commercial contracts and other legal documents. He has also acted in arbitration proceedings involving complex construction, banking, and technology matters, including serving as secretary to arbitral tribunals and as representing counsel.
In addition, Deo has developed internal employment policies and employee handbooks for multiple companies and handled the settling of workplace disputes.
Deogratias is a published author, having co-authored the Rwanda chapter in The 2023 International Review of Constitutional Reform (University of Texas Law, 2024) and written on international private law and banking law, among other topics. He also completed a leadership course at the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School.
Beyond his commercial practice, Deo is passionate about the role lawyers play in society and has personally contributed to pro bono programmes, providing legal support to startups that bring technology-driven and innovative solutions.
Deogratias is a member of the Rwanda Bar Association and the East African Law Society.
