Thapelo Molopyane is a Senior Digital Forensics Manager at ENS in the Forensics practice.
Thapelo is a data analytics and digital forensics professional with more than a decade’s experience spanning audit, risk management and digital forensics. He also has experience in cyber forensics and an in depth understanding of the procure to pay lifecycle. He has a proven track record of identifying anomalous activity, leading investigative efforts, and designing technical solutions that enhance fraud detection capabilities.
Over the past several years, Thapelo has specialised in developing forensic data tools and automation capabilities, as well as leading forensic investigations. Leveraging advanced analytical methods and a deep understanding of fraud typologies, he has built workflows and scripts that optimise detection accuracy and operational efficiency. These tools and procedures directly support forensic investigations by accelerating evidence acquisition and triage, strengthening linkage analysis across entities and events, and standardising case reporting while preserving chain of custody. Having primarily worked within audit and forensic firms, his background spans multiple industries and geographies, including the United Kingdom, Namibia and Saudi Arabia, where he has collaborated closely with forensics and audit teams, IT and compliance functions to uncover and mitigate financial and operational risk. Sector exposure includes financial services, insurance, telecommunications, energy and utilities, mining and resources, retail and consumer, manufacturing, healthcare, transport and logistics, and public institutions.
Thapelo is passionate about data driven fraud prevention strategies and about building high performing teams aligned to operational excellence. He focuses on evolving analytics operating frameworks to strengthen controls, accelerate insight generation and deliver measurable risk reduction.
