Rakhee specialises in the field of technology and data privacy law, with South African and Australian qualifications, Rakhee has extensive experience in outsourcing and complex technology transactions.

She also has experience in systems integration projects, cybersecurity, electronic communications, information communications technology (ICT), advertising regulations and social media. She also has expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial and TMT-related agreements, including those relating to ICT procurement, software, hardware, systems integration, consultancy, cloud-computing as well as IT policies and procedures. Rakhee advises clients on their ICT compliance requirements and legislation pertaining to TMT law.

Rakhee’s data privacy experience involves advising clients on their compliance with data privacy laws, including providing advice on client’s data processing activities, conducting gap analysis assessments of data processing activities and providing recommendations and interventions to be compliant with data laws, drafting appropriate data processing agreements, and conducting workshops and training on privacy laws. She has deep knowledge on presenting and training clients on cyber risks, managing data breaches, data privacy laws, IT contracting, emerging technologies, cryptocurrencies and blockchain, social media, and artificial intelligence.

Rakhee has acted for various listed companies, state-owned entities, quasi-government corporations, public sector bodies and multijurisdictional companies in a variety of sectors, including the financial services, retail, technology and resources industries.
