Sandile Nhlengetwa is an Associate at ENS in the Natural Resources and Enviroment practice. 

Sandile specialises in all aspects of mining and environmental law.

His experience includes water, energy and mining law litigation and appeals as well as advising on energy projects, including renewable energy projects, from project inception to execution. Sandile has acted for clients in the industrial, manufacturing, energy, waste management and mining industries. He is skilled in matters relating to due diligence investigations; regulatory advice on compliance with applicable legislation; opinion work; and registering mining and petroleum titles and registering security in the form of a mining mortgage bond. He also advises clients on obtaining environmental permits, precious metal licences and mining and petroleum titles.

In addition, Sandile’s experience includes advising a mining company on acquiring a Botswana-based copper mining house, and conducted mining and environmental due diligence investigations and drafting legal opinions on the mining titles and environmental permits held by the copper mine. He has also conducted a due diligence investigation on the financing of a hospital project and advised on environmental and regulatory aspects relating to the project. In addition, Sandile has conducted a due diligence investigation on a Zambian mining house and advised on all aspects of environmental and mining law.
