Dr. Axel Moeller is a Consultant at ENS in Namibia.

Axel specialises in projects and mandates that have a multi-disciplinary dimension across legal, corporate-financial, and economic deliberations. He has a European track record as a project legal advisor on capital markets projects, particularly in the realm of alternative initial public offering (IPO) models. He worked on one of the first European Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) and has published a book on the corporate financial and legal aspects pertaining to alternative IPO models.

Within the Namibian corporate legal landscape, Axel specialises in advising pension and medical aid funds, banking and non-banking institutions, as well as payment service providers, in addition to advising on general corporate commercial matters. He has also been extensively involved in AI-related topics, including the sponsored development of an algorithmic model designed to facilitate legal-financial advisory.

Axel was the Max Planck Fellow at the University of Oxford Faculty of Law (2015-2017), coterminous with a Research Associateship at St Catherine’s College, Oxford. He has also been a College tutor in law at Oxford University (St Catherine’s College and Queen’s College, 2018). He further held Research Associate positions at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, as well as the Institute of Law and Economics in Hamburg, Germany.

Axel is fluent in English, German, and Afrikaans.
