Elly Obegi

Elly Obegi a Senior Associate at ENS in Kenya.
Elly specialises in dispute resolution and tax, representing a wide array of clients in complex commercial and tax disputes as well as employment, construction and trade and regional integration matters.
His experience includes acting on various complex tax disputes before the all levels of the Kenyan court system, from the Tax Appeals Tribunal to the Supreme Court of Kenya. His practice also covers various constitutional challenges against various Finance Acts and related statutes as well as judicial review challenges to administrative actions by public bodies, including the Kenya Revenue Authority. Elly has also successfully represented clients before the East African Court of Justice (EACJ) in proceedings challenging certain tax laws that contravene Kenya’s EAC Treaty obligations.
In addition, Elly is also experienced in local and international arbitration having acted on complex arbitral proceedings arising from mergers and acquisitions and construction projects under various local and international arbitral institutions. He also routinely acts in the enforcement of international and local arbitral awards before the High Court of Kenya and Kenyan Court of Appeal.
Elly is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the East Africa Law Society.
