Walter Amoko is a Partner at ENS in Kenya.

Walter specialises in litigation representing both private and public bodies Kenyan Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and High Court as well as various specialist tribunals and arbitration. His practice covers constitutional/administrative law, company law/insolvency, construction, employment, public procurement, public-private partnerships and tax.

His experience includes advising on or representing clients in challenges to affordable housing schemes undertaken by a county government under a PPP program, the completion of a privately financed road construction under a PPP, public procurement challenges related to awards for licenses and power generation contracts, banking disputes involving claims for damages against regulators for shutting down a bank, actions against banks for breach of contract and enforcement of guarantees/bonds, insurance-related challenges against regulators and defending claims for indemnity arising from the 2007/2008 post-election violence, tax matters before the Tax Appeals Tribunals and the High Court regarding corporation tax, excise duty, VAT, and WHT, as well as constitutional challenges to the constitutionality of various finance acts and the composition and regulatory ambit of the Communication Authority of Kenya.

In addition, Walter is also experienced in environmental law and planning and has advised clients in respect to large scale mixed developments.

Walter is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the East Africa Law Society.
