Nicolette van der Walt
practical experience
Nicolette van der Walt is a Senior Associate at ENS in the Banking and Finance practice with a focus on corporate finance transactions, debt finance (including preference share funding) and related security structures.
She is also experienced in general corporate and commercial law.
She has experience in transactional and regulatory matters, advising on financing and derivative transactions, advising international and local banks (as well as other financial intermediaries) on governance and regulatory matters, business rescue and insolvency proceedings and the drafting, reviewing, negotiating and implementing of various types of commercial agreements.
In addition, she is also experienced in a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructures and due diligence investigations. She has also advised clients on compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI) and the National Credit Act and has experience in dispute resolution, including general contractual disputes, arbitration and commercial litigation proceedings.
Nicolette has advised clients in various sectors, including agriculture, finance, real estate and residential, hospitality, healthcare and transport.
