Zaid Bhayat
practical experience
Zaid Bhayat is an Associate at ENS in the Competition practice.
He has advised clients in a variety of industries, including large local and multinational companies in the logistics, energy, retail, banking, information technology, mobile telecommunications, automobile, aviation and pharmaceutical sectors.
His experience includes providing advice on notifiability of mergers and preparing merger notifications in various African jurisdictions, representing clients in complaint proceedings and advising clients on prohibited practices (including cartel conduct, restrictive vertical practices and abuse of dominance).
He has previously advised clients in relation to most operational African antitrust regimes including – Angola, Botswana, CEMAC, COMESA (and its 21 Member States), eSwatini, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
In addition, Zaid has written various competition law-related articles for the EU Competition Law Review and has prepared headnotes for the Butterworths Competition Law Reports.
