Shaaista Thabit is an Associate in ENSafrica’s Banking and Finance department.
She has acted for clients in a variety of industries and focuses on transactional banking, leveraged finance and acquisition finance.
Shaaista’s representative experience includes advising a multinational commodity trader on the applicable regulatory requirements for financial services providers in South Africa. Advising a Dutch supplier of exotic fruits and vegetables and a South African marketing organization on compliance with the National Credit Act in South Africa for the purposes of establishing a credit provider. Advising a local non-bank lender on the provision of a secured bridging facility to a subsidiary of a large pharmaceutical company. She has also assisted a major local bank in instituting legal proceedings against a defaulting creditor. And assisted a major local bank with the restructuring of one of its largest client exposures.
