Gerry Comninos

Gerry Comninos is a Senior Associate at ENS in the Dispute Resolution practice.
Gerry is dual-qualified in South Africa and England & Wales. He has extensive experience in domestic and cross-border litigation and arbitration. He advises corporates and public bodies on complex matters across multiple sectors, including mining and resources, energy, financial services, construction and engineering, insurance, telecommunications, and transportation. Gerry regularly advises clients in technically demanding cases with a focus on strategy, risk management, and efficient resolution.
He has acted in arbitrations involving large scale infrastructure projects including petroleum pipeline and solar energy projects in South Africa and Namibia. He has also acted for an international mining company in disputes regarding ownership and control of mining rights under the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, including matters before the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa and in related proceedings in Bermuda.
Gerry often represents insurers in complex coverage disputes, including claims arising from damage to commercial property, civil unrest and business interruption issues as well as third-party liability claims in the transportation sector.
Gerry has also acted for foreign companies in the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and court judgments in South Africa and managed high value cross‑border disputes in African countries and other foreign jurisdictions.
