Jo-Paula Roman
practical experience
Jo-Paula Roman is an Executive at ENS in the Tax practice. She specialises in domestic and international corporate income tax matters, with a particular interest in value-added tax (“VAT”).
She has acted for a variety of clients in the retail, banking and financial services industries, as well as for clients providing various platform services.
Jo-Paula’s experience includes advising on the tax aspects of corporate restructuring, such as unbundling and M&A transactions, as well as on the VAT aspects of cross-border supplies and financial services. She also assists clients with their tax planning matters, and has particular experience in the establishment of trusts with a view to obtaining tax exemption status under the public benefit organisation dispensation of the South African Income Tax Act, 1962.
In addition, Jo-Paula’s experience includes advising on exchange control, and the application thereof to transactions involving cryptoassets.
