Rob Scott

Rob Scott is an Executive Consultant at ENS in the Dispute Resolution Practice and heads up the firm’s Insurance Practice Group. Rob is an Accredited Commercial Mediator (since 2014).
He has decades of experience in the fields of insurance and insurance law (also having worked in the insurance industry), construction and commercial litigation / alternative dispute resolution, inclusive of arbitration, mediation and conciliation. He has over his career been involved in high profile cases in the fields of auditors liability, tendering and administrative justice, defamation and construction insurance guarantees. Rob has also been involved in a number of cross border construction / mining arbitration and mediation disputes.
His practice is focused on insurance claims / disputes. Rob acts for insureds, reinsurers and insurers, across all lines of insurance business, including assets all risks and business interruption; construction and engineering; cyber; financial lines covers inclusive of directors and officers liability and commercial crimes; goods in transit; on-demand insurance guarantees; professional indemnity and riot, strike and political violence. His particular speciality is in the fields of construction and engineering insurance. He was involved substantially in the business interruption insurance claims consequent upon the Covid-19 pandemic , the July 2021 Kwa-Zulu Natal political violence claims and the July 2022 Kwa-Zulu Natal flood claims.
Rob is the convener and co-ordinator of the ENSureAfrica team comprising insurance law practitioners from each of ENS’s on the ground African offices. ENSureAfrica is a team dedicated to providing insurance law expertise / advices and services on the continent, in the context of increasing insurance activity on the continent and Africa now being regarded as the new frontier for insurance expansion.
