Kumeshnie Naidoo is an Executive at ENS in the Project Development and Finance practice.
Kumeshnie has significant experience in various infrastructure development projects in South Africa and the rest of Africa. In this regard, Kumeshnie has transactional and regulatory experience and has advised state authorities as well as private sector parties including developers, lenders, sponsors, contractors and shareholders. Within the projects and infrastructure sector, Kumeshnie has experience in equity and shareholder arrangements, project development including early project structuring and joint venture arrangements, the development of a project to financial close as well as the disposal and acquisition of projects post either before and after financial close.
Kumeshnie has experience in the energy sector including state-run energy programmes, independent power producer arrangements and captive projects in South Africa and other countries in Africa. Kumeshnie’s experience extends to drafting and negotiation of power purchase agreements, government support agreements, project structuring agreements including shareholders agreements, memoranda of incorporation, joint venture arrangements, supply agreements, as well as other project development agreements. Kumeshnie has gained significant experience in greenfield energy projects as well as secondary market acquisitions within the energy sector.
Kumeshnie’s experience includes port development, concessions, gas transportation, rail development and operation as well as road development, PPAs across sectors and energy projects.
Kumeshnie also has experience in public sector law in the areas of regulatory compliance on municipal and national level, public entities, government departments. She has over the years assisted various public entities with the procurement of goods and services, the structuring of procurement programmes and drafting and negotiation of various development agreements across industry sectors.
