Carmen Schoon

Carmen Schoon is an Executive at ENS in the dispute resolution | insolvency, business rescue and debt recovery practice.
Carmen has experience in High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal matters ranging from dispute resolution to insolvency.
Carmen’s key focus area of law is insolvency of which she has extensive experience ranging from acting for creditors, liquidators and trustees throughout the insolvency process, which includes a variety of aspects such as proof of claims, meeting of creditors, insolvency interrogations and litigation relating to the administration or winding-up.
Carmen also focuses on matters relating to tender procurement and in particular unlawful awards. She is passionate about fair and transparent procurement in South Africa and has acted for several private entities in appealing tender awards and resulting litigation.
Carmen also has experience in complex contractual related disputes and has acted for several private financiers in these matters.
Carmen regularly acts for the four major banks in South Africa. She has also acted for several private entities in various dispute resolution related matters.
Carmen is a member of the KwaZulu-Natal Board of South African Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners Association and she also lectures part of the South African Advanced Insolvency Course through Insol International.

- Admitted as an attorney and conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa
