take, make, dispose - Definition

The "take, make, dispose" model is a linear approach to production and consumption where resources are extracted (taken), used to make products, and then discarded (disposed) after use. This model has traditionally been the dominant approach to economic activity, but it has become increasingly unsustainable as resources become scarce and the impacts of waste and pollution on the environment become more severe.
