tone at the top - ENS comment

We have noticed that some compliance departments within certain companies are wholeheartedly committed to ensuring that their organisation is anti-bribery compliant, however they have limited or no support from top management who are more concerned with market share and bottom line earnings.

Management often attempt to justify non-compliant business practices with comments that "everyone else is doing this - if we are too compliant, we will lose market share".

A successful anti-bribery compliance programme must start with clear commitment from top management and is impossible to effectively implement without the CEO's support and commitment.
